Carly had her first school program yesterday. Her class sang several songs and did a few finger plays for the parents and family who came to watch. She did a great job--no stage fright terror in her eyes. She sang well and did all the hand motions.
I thought she was particularly cute at the very beginning of the program. Her class was the first ones on the risers and they were waiting for the other 4 year old class to file up the aisle. She stood very still with her hands at her side and looked right at me. Then, while keeping her hands down, she started waving at me. It was just a little flicker of a hand moving down around her hip, but I knew what she was trying to do. It was so cute and made me smile.
After the program, there were refreshments served in the gym. I was so proud of Carly for taking her plate of treats and sitting over with some girls from her class. She's usually a bit shy about doing things like this, especially if she's got me to be around. But she boldly sat down with the other girls and seemed to have a good time. I didn't want to spoil her fun, plus I figured Isaac would be apt to give her an unexpected bear hug and knock someones drink over. So I took the little man over to some nearby chairs to eat.
She's definitely growing into a big girl.

She looks very sweet. I'm sure she felt all grown-up participating in the program.
How cute. And I love her dress. I wish we could've been there to hear them sing. Love, MOM
