Just For Fun

Today, I have been feeling a bit "natsukashi".  (That's Japanese for feeling nostalgic, remembering the good ole' days, etc.)  The weather was pretty nice yesterday, and today's forecast was looking even better.  So I asked Shawn to put up a clothes line for me last night.  And today the weather was great.  So I did both of the kid's laundry and hung it up to dry.  This falls into the natsukashi category because when we lived in Japan, this is how I always did our laundry.  And it's not because that's how we wanted it, but because that's how it's done.
So today, just for fun, I hung out our laundry and really enjoyed the memories that came back to me as I pinned up each clothing item.
Here's something else that's just for fun!  And since this is post #300 for me, I thought it'd be fun to do a give away.  The other day I saw this Alaska Starbucks mug and thought how so many of my lower 48-er friends and blog readers could use one of these--just for fun!
So leave a comment, and tell me about something you did recently just for fun.  I'll chose one winner (via random.com) on Monday, May 24th.
The winner can choose one of the following: the mug (pictured above), or the travel tumbler version, or a $10 Starbucks or Heritage coffee card.

So why don't you play along--just for fun!

Congrats on 300 posts. I'm going camping this weekend with just my boys and their boy scout troop. I hope it is fun. I also worked on quilting a quilt 2 evening this week.

Archie's birthday was on Sunday. We had his party Saturday. My friend usually makes the cakes but just for fun, I tried making a fire truck cake myself. You'll have to check it out on the blog. I have a new respect for cake makers and I plan on asking my friend for help next year:) It turned out pretty good, but I learned that it's not really something I enjoy. However, I did try it "just for fun" :)

Wow!!! I don't think I would have hung my laundry up "Just For Fun". You amaze me with all the things you do.

The only thing that I can say I did lately "Just for Fun" is buy myself some bleeding hearts. I love them and have always wanted to have some under my living room window.

Now I just have to plant them :)

Just for fun...

Before going to a small village in Rwanda last week to witness OC students drilling a well for their own people, we went to a beautiful lake and enjoyed 24 hours of rest and relaxation...just for fun!

Lately, I've really enjoyed our sunny front porch where I have some planters with many brightly colored flowers, including brilliant orange nasturtiums. I love those flowers. And, what makes them more fun (and nostalgic) is that the seeds were from Naomi's baby shower. So, I've been collecting the nasturtium seeds---they can be very big until you put them in the sun for a few days when they shrink and harden. So, now I'm building up a nice collection of nasturtium seeds for next year...just for fun!

Tonight we tried to find a friend's house through a back-route that we'd never taken before, just for fun. It ended up taking us much longer and I thought we were never going to find it. Eventually we did and we still made it home for a bike ride with the kiddos before bedtime.

Just for fun, this past week I made Carly & Isaac pillowcases made from real cute fabric. I also embroidered their names on the band. Carly's is made from pink and brown heart fabric, and Isaac's is all kinds of boats floating in the harbor. They sure look cute!

Just for fun, I made blueberry muffins this morning for breakfast. Yummy! Pick someone else if I win, since I won last time :)
