Sandy Beach

The past few days have been insanely beautiful here.  Temperatures were in the high 70's and low 80's which is pretty hot for August in SE Alaska.  Since we have some visitors here to welcome the birth of our little babe, we tried to make the most of it and went to Sandy Beach one afternoon.  It was so nice, we had a hard time leaving when the time came.  Warm sunshine, sand to play in and build with, and plenty of maritime activity to watch in Gastineau Channel.  It all made for a pleasant day for us all.
Our little babe enjoyed soaking up the sun too
staying in the shade in his own little cabana (aka the kids IKEA pop up tent--I just love IKEA.)
waving off the tourists who visited Juneau that day
 sleeping babe
the little missy and her prized possession of the day
With Uncle Eric and their sand castle fortress
They built it in just the right spot.  When the high tide crested, it was just inches shy of their handy work.  Of course, no sand castle was a match for the destructive nature of the little man.
Grandpa bought them candy necklaces...mmm.  Treats from Grandma and Grandpa are always that much sweeter.
The best shot I got of all three.  Granted it was sunny and the little babe especially didn't appreciate the sun in his eyes.
Hope you're enjoying your August days too.

Glad you got out to enjoy. Little Levi already looks like a 2-mth-old... I think it's nice to have big babies that are pretty and don't go through such a newborn stage. :)

What a fun day! Thanks for posting all the pics. Mom looks so happy holding #3. So...we were wondering if little man has any shirts with sleeves any more? ;)

So fun. Glad you're getting out and enjoying family time. I know you're blessing your parents and all of us. We missed you all at the reunion but I'm thrilled for you guys that you had your own little reunion. I know Sharon would have like to be there. Your little babe is a big babe and so precious! How is he sleeping and eating?
