Three Months

Last week we passed the 3 month mark for our little babe.  He truly is growing SO fast.
Remember how in my 2 Months post, I said that I estimated he was about 15 lbs?  Well after I posted that I thought I had to be overestimating.  Because, honestly how many 2 month olds are 15 lbs?  Probably something like 5 out of every 100.  Well, as it turned out, I was right.  At his 2 month check up (that ended up being just about 5 days shy of his 3 month birthday), he weighed 14 lbs 15 oz.  Exactly 5 lbs more than his birth weight.  Yeah, we don't grow 'em scrawny around here!
There haven't been very many big milestones this month, but changes for sure.  At some point in the past month he's taken to sucking or chewing on his hands.  In fact the other night we caught him discovering his thumb for some chewing.  Are we going to have a thumb sucker?  Hmm.  He's also started acting a bit more like an older baby.  He holds his head up really well and likes to be held so he can look around.  And his eyesight has definitely improved from his newborn abilities of 1 foot.  He follows me with his eyes all over the kitchen from the comfort of his beloved bouncy seat.  (Best $5 I've spent in a long time.)
And people often ask me how he's sleeping.  And well, I don't normally publicize this, but...are you ready?....
he sleeps through the night!
!!!!!!!!!
Generally speaking, of course.  He occasionally has a couple of off nights in a row, but then he hops back on the sleep all night train.  After waking up two to three times a night with the little man for many, many, many months, this sleeping style is very welcome in our house.
The pictures this time around aren't too glamorous.  Mostly due to the dark Alaskan winter that has started.  More nighttime darkness, combined with cloudy days, and no snow on the ground yet to at least reflect the daytime light we do have makes for dark indoor pictures.  Plus my timing for the little babe probably could have been better.  He wasn't feeling completely photogenic.
Oh, well.  Life can't always be a bowl full of cherries.

Glad he's such a good baby for you.

Levi's little dog reminds me of my stuffed dog that I had...can't remember what I called him. Maybe Mom remembers...

His name was Sparky I believe, Eric. :) Rachel, I really hope that his little cousin follows in his footsteps and sleeps through the night at an early age. Wow, that would be nice.

I thought Eric's little doggies name was Ralph? I think we still have him somewhere. I'm also glad Levi's another good baby for you.

Natalie was, and still is, a FABULOUS sleeper & I too didn't really spread that news too much. Its not really what other parents of newborns want to hear while they are in the midst of sleepless nights! Are Levi's eyes brown, they kind of look like it in pictures.

He really is precious! Seth is a big boy, too, but not as big as Levi. He was actually only 12 lbs 3 oz at his 2 month check up, but he was 90th percentile for length. I think he might be my tall boy!

Eric, it was totally named Ralph. But he was more of a hound dog with a tan body and brown ears...as I recall.
Marilyn, I meant to mention something about his eyes but forgot. I think I would classify them as hazel. They're a pretty dark green, almost gray. But they could just be still changing. We'll see how they turn out.
And I shouldn't have told you all that he sleeps through the night. Wouldn't you know it, he didn't last night. It seems like every time I publicize his sleeping style, he'll revolt on me for a few nights. I guess I've learned my lesson. I'm just hoping the good sleeping continues through teething which may be starting in a month or two if he follows his siblings time lines.

Ralph! That was it! Sparky was the name of the newer dog that Dad got me on some business trip I think.

Wow! Sleeping through the night?!?! So true, Marilyn. =)

When I showed Naomi the first picture of Levi she immediately zoned in on the dog and shouted "dog!" haha! It was pretty funny. I'm sure she'll be more interested in babies one day.
