Here are some picture of the process. There were two guys with chainsaws pretty much running constantly and then and third guy assisting with equipment, etc. They were very skilled workers. They were able to literally place a 50 foot tree right where they wanted it. Of course, placing a 25 foot tree was easier, but they could do both.

In case you lost count from the pictures and don't know how many trees we had cut down, we can't help you because we lost count too. It was somewhere in the neighborhood of 25. There were 7 in the front yard alone. Some of you probably think we're crazy, but our property does back up to forest service land and we did leave a few trees in our backyard and a couple near our mailbox (on the opposite side of our driveway). Also if you're reading this from Oklahoma where the state total number of trees is 25, I can understand if you're shocked at our Paul Bunyan approach. Also, we don't have to worry about keeping certain trees for shading and cooling purposes. It never gets too hot to worry about that. The important thing here is light. So removing some of the "shades" will help a lot. Now we just have to finish our years worth of clean up! Aye-yai-yai!

I started to hyper ventilate because you were cutting down the trees since I am from OK. I understand your reasoning now since you don't need the trees to for cooling purposes. By the way we have 14 trees on our lot of the 25 total trees in OK.
Glad to hear that Lee got there safely.
Justin and Jemma were excited that we were making the first comment.
That's so crazy! It IS so funny the perspective you have - I was really wondering "why?" as well... but it makes sense now! In that picture it really does look like your backyard is huge with the trees down.
You're going to laugh that this is my comment, but...I didn't know you had a jeep! It's funny that that was my first thought when I saw the pictures! Also, since I'm not a native Okie, I completely get why you cut down the trees!
Wow--what a big job! Have fun dreaming up your landscaping plans.
It really does make a difference. We've only taken baby steps (only a few trees) compared to what you did! Good for you! Kathryn
Wow, what a difference. I can't wait to see the change. What are you going to do with all the wood? Maybe a wood stove?
Love, MOM
