Fun in the Snow

We got about three inches of fresh snow Saturday night. Carly could hardly wait until Sunday afternoon to get outside and build a snowman. Unfortunately, the snow was too dry for snowman building. I was a bit surprised by that. It seems the snow is always a little more wet in early winter. But I guess not this time. So instead they had a good time shoveling snow. I got one of these little snow shovels at a garage sale this summer for 50 cents! And I'm glad I took up Mike and Kathryn on their offer for the other one. I almost told them, "Oh, no we've got one." But with TWO kids, ONE is not enough. Unless of course you like to hear the sounds of sibling rivalry. So for a grand total of 50 cents they each have their own shovel. I know, I know...I need to slow down on my spending or we won't have anything left for our retirement fund!
Yes, her mother is a blogger. Can you tell? She kept changing her pose with the shovel and saying, "how about this mom?"
Another hard worker in the making. He hardly looked up from his work.
The family that shovels together stays together. And yes, I do realize that I'm obviously not shoveling. But I was documenting the shoveling.
This was right after Shawn showed Isaac how to throw a snowball at someone. And yes, Isaac was the example person.

Looks fun, and really cold. Today our temp is 38, and that is WAY too cold for me. I would be happy if we stayed at 90 year round. I know, I'm weird.

I was thinking about you today and wondering if you had any snow yet.

I am with Kelly on wanting warmer temps. My kids keep reminding me that I should be fine with colder weather since I grew up in WI.

Well, about that snow-shovelling family staying together: don't move down South!

The kids will have a ball with those snow shovels. As hard of workers and Carly and Isaac are, they'll be thrilled to "get to" shovel the snow, that you won't have to do near as much! What a great investment!
