Yesterday was one of those dark and gloomy days here. Clouds covered most of the day and there was a light drizzle coming down. Carly didn't have school and I was watching Isaac wondering if he was truly sick or not. (He had thrown up the night before, but I had my suspicions that he had just gagged and wasn't really sick. I turned out to be right.) So we just stayed home yesterday. And all day yesterday, the kids played grocery store. I was amazed at how long they played this together. Every once in a while they'd drift off and do something else for a few minutes, but they'd always come back to the grocery store. Interestingly enough, the only arguments I heard was when they weren't playing grocery store. Anyway, Momma appreciated their focused play too. I was able to get some laundry washed and folded, dishes put away, bills paid, and more work setting up the new blog look. I could take more gloomy days if they turn out like this indoors!

"here you go"
"have a nice day" (he really did say that!)
off to take her groceries home

How neat that they played so well together.
I just love it! When days are like this and the kids play so well togther, it feels so good!
What a blessing to be able for them to be able to play and learn/grow/develop at home like this. As my parents have always said, "Kids' play is their work."
I remember when our girls played grocery store. Sarah had the coolest cash register. I wish I had held onto it. It's neat to see how brother and sister can play together and have so much fun.
So how long did the shop stay set up? Sometimes I think it would be in my best interest to just let the forts and stores and castles, etc. stay set up for a few days, it would save us a lot of time and energy! It's nice when they play so well together isn't it?!
