After my last post and introduction of the newest feature on the blog--Tasty Tuesday--my sister requested several other weekly posting structures. While I'm not against posting "Fotos on Friday" or "Musings on Monday", I'm going to forgo the regular scheduling of posts like that and try to keep things a bit more free on days other than Tuesday. Photos are definitely a BIG part of this blog, so for this week, I thought I'd oblige my sister and make today a Foto Friday post. You're welcome, Sharon. :-)
A few months ago, when the weather was starting to warm up in most of the lower 48, we were still deep in winter here in Alaska and it was starting to get a little old. We're normally the type of family that doesn't have to get out of the house everyday. We're usually quite content with staying home. In fact, I usually intentionally plan to stay home at least 2 days each week so we can focus on things at home that need my attention. But even our comfort with being at home was not strong enough to over power a really strong dose of "end-of-winter-cabin-fever". It was time to get out and play without being smothered by snow clothes. So we went to the indoor turf field in town for the preschool playtime.
I took these photos nearly 3 months ago, but thought I'd share them anyway. Our snow is gone now and it's definitely feeling like spring (wish it felt like summer though), but the smiles and fun are good for any season. Enjoy the pics!

Looks like a fun day. --Love, MOM
Thanks for humoring me! It was just an idea ;-) Those boys look like they had fun. What a nice big space to run and play! Not many other kids crowding around the toys-nice!
Sharon
What a great idea to build that indoor play place, especially in AK! These are great pics of your boys in action :-)
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I just can't get over how grown up they all look.
What a fun place!
What a fun day! Since we haven't seen your family in awhile, it was amazing to see L. walking and I. looking like an older boy!! I always enjoy seeing your family blog:)
Glad you all enjoyed the pics. This field house is actually used for several things--soccer and softball clubs primarily, but they also rent their space out for parties, have a full track going around the field on the second level and of course have a preschool playtime on weekday mornings. It's a huge space--an over sized full soccer field. We're really glad to have something like it in Juneau.
And yes, these boys are looking so grown up. Getting so big so fast.
