Last night, after she had been put to bed, we heard Carly singing and talking to herself quite a bit before she actually fell asleep. Surprisingly she didn't creep out of her room though. This morning when I went into wake Carly up this was the scene.
She never sleeps with this Elmo and you can probably see why. He's HUGE! In fact she rarely ever sleeps with any dolls or animals. Obviously she had brought Elmo into bed with her while she was singing and talking last night. She's so funny when she's left to her own devices.
Then tonight when I got home from my twice a month prayer group meeting, I found this scene.
Shawn was just getting off the phone with his parents. While he was talking he sat down in the recliner with Isaac. Apparently he'd been pretty grumpy. So Shawn said it didn't take to long for him to nod off. Unfortunately, Daddy let him get a 45 minute nap just an hour before his usual bed time. So we pushed bed time back about 20 minutes, but he still went to bed just fine. I guess he was tired enough for that evening nap after all.
They always look so peaceful and innocent when they are sleeping. It reminds me that's really what they are despite the loud voices and active play. At the heart of it all, they really are peaceful and innocent children. What a blessing they both are to me and Shawn.
