Legos in Your Jammies

The past few days have been challenging around here.  Momma's been sick so everyone has been fending for themselves.  Since yesterday afternoon I've been gradually feeling better and able to do a few more things between naps and breaks on the couch.  Today I'm trying to pretend things are back to normal without over extending myself. 

Shawn has done a great job holding down the fort, keeping the kids fed, changing diapers, getting the little miss off to school, and keeping the peace during playtime.  I'm glad my illness has coincided with his weekend, but feel bad too since I know he had hopes of accomplishing other things this weekend.

Fortunately, no one else seems to be getting what I had.  Although our little babe seems to have a mild form of hand, foot, mouth virus.  It's in the chicken pox family and results in spots on his hands feet and sometimes mouth or just about anywhere.  Other than the spots that are going away (and a fever and grouchy mood last week), he's acting normal. 

I actually took these pictures a week or so ago when were enjoying a lazy Saturday morning.  They just seemed appropriate to post today with the subject of getting over an illness.  Playing legos in your jammies just seems right when you're getting better.  They go hand-in-hand with chicken noodle soup.  Speaking of which, I mustered up the energy to make this version last night.  I can't say it single handily put me on the road to recovery, but I'm sure it didn't hurt.  And it sure did hit the spot.

Back to legos for a minute, I'm glad my kiddos are enjoying this past time together lately.  And it kind of cracks me up how badly the little babe wants to join in.  He gets to when they use the bigger duplos but not the regular legos.  Sorry buddy, but soon enough.
