Burning Rubber

On Saturday, I took Carly with me to Burnin' Rubber. It's a stamping event that a local Stampin' Up consultant coordinates every few months. She rents out one of the rooms at Centennial Hall (Juneau's convention center) and has tables set up with all the pieces precut for you to create beautiful cards and scrapbook pages. If you like paper crafting like me, then this sort of thing would be a welcome Saturday activity.
Despite her expression in this picture, Carly loved Burnin' Rubber. (She was just nervous because she didn't know the lady who took our picture.) She really got into making the cards. She made several including one for her cousin Isaiah who has a birthday soon. We also made a scrapbook page (that's what were doing in the picture) to document all of Carly's current favorites. Since VBS starts tonight, we probably won't finish the journaling and get our pictures mounted on it for at least a few days, but at least the basic page is done.
I also enjoyed the afternoon. I got a lot more done with her there than I thought I would. And she was even more into it than I thought she would be. All in all, it was a great way to spend some quality time with my little girl. Hopefully we'll be able to go to more of these events in the future.

It's fun when they show an interest in our hobbies. Jemma is going to quilt camp next week.
