Concert at the Park

Yesterday, I took the kids downtown for a concert at Marine Park. It was the Juneau Volunteer Marching Band that gave the concert. Every year this band assembles a few weeks before Independence Day and then marches in the parade on the big day. This year since it's also Alaska's 50th year of statehood, they did a few concerts as well. So we packed a lunch and went down for some peppy tunes.
I was trying to take a picture of Isaac and I with my arms stretched out. And then I looked over and saw Carly. So I put the strap over her neck and showed her what button to push. She was pretty close to me, so I wasn't too worried. This was a the best shot she got. Too bad I'm over-smiling! And yes, that's a butterfly bandage on Isaac's head. We had a head wound last week, but fortunately it didn't require a trip to the ER.
Carly enjoying the music. It was nice to see her calm. We had a bit of a rough morning with lots of lessons in obedience. So there wasn't as many moments of calm like this. I'm glad that the tough lessons didn't last all day and that she was able to enjoy the concert.

While we were downtown I did some window shopping at Shoefly. It's a GREAT little shoe shop and just happens to be our governor's favorite place to buy shoes. I didn't see her though.
Walking back to the car and stopping for a photo on the dock in front of one of the five HUGE cruise ships in town today.

Your kids are so cute. They're growing up so quickly and seem to have their own unique and fun personalities! Wish we could come see you.
