The Picnic at Cope Park

Every year after the big parade our church family gets together for a picnic at Cope Park. And with the weather being so beautiful today, it make the picnic just perfect. We even had some police presence to keep the rowdy ones under control. The officer in the background is a new recruit that Shawn is training. I was really glad that everyone was so welcoming to him when they stopped for lunch. He seems like a nice guy and he also seemed to really enjoy stopping by for a bite to eat.

The Williams family
Isaac made a new friend this week. Fred and Jody's granddaughter, Hailey, was here visiting with her parents this week and she and Isaac became fast friends. Hailey is just 2 weeks older than Isaac. This was just before she left the picnic and Grandma Jody suggested Hailey give Isaac a kiss goodbye. And she did!

After the picnic, I went a few blocks down from the park to take a picture of the governor's mansion. I don't think we actually have a picture of it, and I thought it would be appropriate since I finally saw Sarah and Todd Palin "in the flesh" today. They were getting out of their car to go to the parade earlier that day when I spotted them.
